I've been riding since 1971 (my first bike was a Moto Beta Camoscio Cross - beat that!) and bought my first Guzzi, a (very) secondhand V50-II in 1980. I've owned two V50s and a V65SP, alternating with various BMWs. I'm a determinedly non-macho, non-competitive rider, mainly into sensible touring. Mind you, I did commute 20 miles a day by bike through eight successive Canberra winters, which some mightn't regard as terribly sensible. Moved to Tassie a month ago and am really chafing at being without a bike. In case it's of any use to anyone, I read and speak Italian.
I sat on a friends Mk1 LeMans in 1985 and hated it - I swore I'd never own such an uncomfortable bike. Then I rode it and fell in love! I bought that bike at the tender age of 21 and rode it everywhere. I had to sell it a few years later due to being a poor student, an act I never quite recovered from! Have since owned a V50III, LeMans III, 850T, T4, as well as several other things including a Ducati Monster and Cagiva Mito. Current bikes: One SP turned into a cafe-racer, a 'brand new' Nuovo Falcone (just 680kms on the clock when I bought it) and a sweet little Stornello 160.
I ride the Cali daily and try to rebuild the mk1(which i need some parts for), house on weekends and try to get away on the scooter.

Bought the Guzzi about three years ago thru Ken Taylor of TDC Motorcycles at Maleny. Love the machine but the rider has his limitations when it comes to long rides, hence the "K". I'm under severe pressure from the missus to part with one or the other but am putting up a good fight!!
Age: mid 40's
Location: Yandina Qld
Email: wocky@oasys.com.au
Bikes: 78 Le Mans Mk1 & 84 BMW K100RS
Past Bikes: SP65, SP1000, Cali III (with sidecar). A life without a Guzzi is only half a life. I've only had the LM for 7 months now, but I'm enjoying it immensely. Have really enjoyed the odd ride down the Putty Road, or the Wisemans Ferry Road. Lots of fun. Have started doing small weekend runs with my oldest son (aged 7) - he loves it and it's great to get out on the road again after the interminally long "toddler" years. Would be interested in meeting up with any Newcastle / Hunter based Guzzi-ists interested in family type rides.
This is my second Guzzi. My first was a mk4. I enjoy going to rallies and weekend rides. I race a 250 post classic Honda.
Have been riding bikes since 15, mainly enduro bikes and have only recently got into road riding in the last 2 years.Loving itialian bikes I recently purchased the Le Mans and absolutely love it more each time I ride it. Living on the Great Ocean Road is a great place to ride, so everybody enjoy it,I've lived here all my life and have see a lot of dropped bikes,so ride safely and to your limit. So for those people out there who come down for a ride down this way, I also have accomadation in Apollo bay and will give the crew in aigor a special rate, so you can make your ride down here a weekend trip(please book ahead)or longer so you can enjoy this great coastline. see you there!
Do I love my Convert?...Yes, and when I get it on the road I will love it even more...
Bought Guzzi brand new in 1974 and we've done over 220,000 KMs but most of that was done many years ago. Been a faithful bike, never left me by the side of the road. Always given me plenty of warning of things going wrong. Been down the Birdsville track, on numerous alpine rallys and round Tasmania not to mention numerous Bathurst meetings, all from my home in Cairns.
