I've been riding for 30 odd years Mostly Jap Bikes. I discovered my latest trusty steed 3 years ago needing some TLC took her for a quick test run & fell in love. I've found her well mannered but can be a bit temperamental at times but I'm working on that. I've had the carbs rebuilt and am getting a new exhaust system due to the original burning out. She also had electronic ignition fitted.

I'm of Italian descent (Parents Migrated here in 50's )and love Italian motorcycles. I've had my Guzzi for about 6 months and am desperate to be part of the large Guzzi comunity ie: rides, rallies etc., Hopefully see you soon!

This is an old and completly unrestored bike that I have owned for nearly 15 years. It is still registered and I take it out for the odd jaunt occasionally. For those who don't know the GTV is a touring version 500cc horizontal cylinder. It was only built for two years after which the Falcon was released.

We have a 1971/2 V7 Sport, Mark I Le Mans and a Mark II Le Mans. When we got the bike, my husband bought it sitting in a shed, sadly neglected- basically all there but the seat and carbies. The process of rebuilding began and he had her running well enough in a week to go to Bathurst Bike Races (1200 km away), held together by zip-ties and ockey straps. Since then we have trained our blue cattle dog and our 7 year old daughter to the bike, she is ridden almost every day, still goes to rallies and gets vast amounts of notice, and is the same vintage as me- The Wife. Locky (owner) has really done very few alterations to her. We have put 32mm pumper carbies off an SS Ducati on her and a hand made inlet manifolds, new valves, pistons and cast iron sleeves at 170,000 km after dropping a valve and destroying a piston, re-wired, chrome work re-done and pipes replaced 12 yrs ago, and basic maintainence. The bike's original colours were red frame and green tank, which it will be again if Locky can ever get off her long enough to paint it. She's been used as daily transport for the majority of the 15 years we've had her and she's just kicked over 225,000 km. She is a living, breathing thing that spits at you in the morning (pumpers- no chokes), coughs when it's cold, and if the dog goes for a ride- the daughter sulks, if the daughter goes for a ride- the dog sulks, and if I get a look in- they both sulk. This is our bike, she's a bike of many 'firsts', and we love the old girl.

I use to have a LMIII a few years ago but sold it which is probably the only reason I have reached 40 +. Have been in QLD ( this time round, was in Townsville for a while during the LMIII days) for 12 months, moving to East Sale in April. You might have an idea of the work my wife and I are in by these locations there is a common denominator. Currently at Uni studying Science.

Have been riding since 1970, owned a variety of bikes, Yamaha twin smokers to start with, then BSA B31 which I still own and have restored, purchased from 1st owner who bought it in 1952, and later in quick succession a 1968 BSA Thunderbolt, (ex SA police)1971 white frame A65L Lightning. Made the great discovery of Guzzi about 1978 when obtained an 850T. Kept thrashed and bent that machine until forced to part company with it in early 1985. For last 5 years have ridden 1000 SP111. Currently commute 150km a day on country roads with 2up weekend rides thrown in. All maintenance (read messing up of machine) so far has been done by me but I'm no mechanic and am interested in any advice available. Married with five kids, all left home now so life's good, but as I'm keeping 3 at university money is tight as a fish's hole.

First bike was a new Stinger then a couple more twin 2 stroke suzi, a Norton Commando Combat (was the love of my life), Honda four, 97 Bandit 2000 Bandit then back to the push rod Cali, and in between went through the trail/motocross bug; you know, Elsnore, DT250, ect., blah, blah. 70's thing. Missus rides xv1100. The Cali along with the Commando would be the best. Must be a European thing?
