Past bikes: CB750F1, Suzi T250, Suzi T318 (racer), Suzi GS850G, Yam XS1100RH, MHR900, 906 Paso, LeMans Mk5, Cali III, Suzi VX800, '80 1000SP.

Joined Aigor in 1997. Been riding since 1979, like many I started with Japanese bikes, lusted for for an Itie bike in the early 80's, got onto dukes, then advanced to gootzies, after a couple of those I finally found my dream bike, an '80 1000SP. On and off the road as part of the work in progress. 250,000k and it's seeing it's first barrel kit, not that it stopped, I just wanted to give it a refresh.

After a succession of Japanese bikes the Le Mans is my first Italian, first V-twin and the realisation of a long-held ambition to own one of these machines. I've done a couple of runs to the Ruptured Budgie Rally on her and some local touring - not a lot of usage in the past couple of years due to health problems. Other interests include Warbirds, airshows, computing. Guzzisti visiting or transiting Townsville are welcome to call in for a cuppa/drink - warm welcome assured.

bikes: 850GT (the old girl) 850T (that lemon)

Bought the GT in ratty nick as a hack. Sat on it, rode it up the street and back, fell violently in love. Despite the horrid noise it made. Fixed the noise, started polishing a few bits.... 5 years later finished the restoration, ran it in down the GOR and did a week in Tassie. Bought the T as a hack bike cos I was sick of the 4cyl Kwak that was doing that job. It's had a fair few problems some of which relate to it being a lowmileage US import, some to cack-handed mechanics I entrusted it to. As for me... been riding 15 years or so and had all sorts of weird bikes!

Guzzi riders since 1981 & 1977 respectively (and still have the same bikes from then), ex-Zimbabwe/South Africa via a short spell in Pomerania (but with time off for good behaviour); both ex racers (450 Desmo & 350 resp); founding members of the Italian Motorcycle Owners Club in S Africa, originators and organisers of the first 7 South African Toy Runs (about 50% bigger than Melbourne's); visited the Guzzi factory twice, most recently for the 75th anniversary rally (pix available in exchange for beer); both hold Inst Advanced Motorcycle licences, multiple competitors in Concors d'Elegance (Monza won seven times) Economy runs (on Guzzis and sponsored German things) & vintage rallies (on borrowed British things); sometime car racers, off-road riders (on our jap things), drag-racers (one of us in womens' clothes) and about to be first-time parents - now, that's the really scary bit!

bikes: 2008 Griso 1200 8v

Now riding a 2008 Griso 1200 8v. No more LMIV, V11 or V7 Racer. I'm back on a Guzzi after a time with Aprilias which are fabulous. Some will recall the Mark IV Le Mans burned to pieces in my shed and with the help of AIGOR members it got put back together. I still have the burnt sidecover hanging in my shed as a reminder. I purchased a fire extinguisher the day after the fire, and have never used it. Another time a 1200 Breva decided to crush my ankle in my driveway. I've been with AIGOR for some years now and they are a wealth knowledge and several members have been good friends for a long time.

My first Guzzi was a 1981 V50 Monza which I owned for 5 years until 1997 and should never have sold it, but it was for a good cause, to buy the Le Mans which I've clocked up around 80,000 k's. I bought the MV in 2005, it gets the day trips and the Le Mans the longer rides.

bikes: LeMans III

I have owned my LeMans III for 18 months and would only trade it for a 1100 Sport, Daytona or Magni (i wish). I love riding it although at 6'2" tall, its a bit tight on trips. My bike pretty original except for rearsets (which I do hate!), pod filters and a modified Venturer rack. It even still has the original Lafraconis although they are getting rusted. The bike is in need of a respray as the paint is getting tatty, I'll do it as I can afford it. I've had numerous probs. from blown Konis to burn't exh valves to wiring to ignition timing but I do enjoy a mechanical challenge!
I work as a Telstra tech in Canberra which I enjoy very much. My other interests are 4WD, camping, caving, abseiling, dirt bikes and most things automotive or mechanical/electrical. At the moment I am rebuilding a 2.0L Lancia powered Suzuki LJ 50 4WD. 130hp and 760kg it should be quite a beast!! It will be also rego'd, the RTA inspectors are going to love it. NOT!!
