Started riding at 17 on trail bikes and graduated to Jap road bikes and moved all the way up to a big 1100. Then started moving down via R1OORS to CX500 to a 400/4 to finally nothing. Was given a complete (but unrestored) 1950 Matchy single which is still awaiting my attention (where to start???) and finally came across a cheap but very red & cheerful LMII. Oddly enough, when I first started riding, this was one of my dream bikes. It is in OK condition, but needs work to get back on road and hopefully I am up to the challenge.
Been riding since G*d was a boy, now limited to road. (used to race C grade 250, C grade trials and off road) Worked as a bike mechanic 30 years ago, so I stick to the older types of bikes that I can still fix. Just bought my first MG and will need all the support I can find to bring her up to scratch. Guess I'd like to convert it into a Cafe racer - it's so small and light, feels like it would handle the corners better than the R80 does.
I have a '95 1100 as my main ride, owned it for only a couple of years now but doubt if I will go back to anything else, probably getting too long in the tooth for an R1 these day's. Just hit the 47 year mark, but still as silly as a cut snake on a hot Pilbara road. I also have an '89 883 sporty that I won in a raffle back then, that goes to the young bloke in the next year or so, and I am doing up a '85 GSXR 750 streetfighter that will probably never get finished and will more that likely get sold in its present unfinished form before xmas. Can't be stuffed working on them anymore. Got a wife that supports me getting out of the house on the bike as often as possible, only because she likes packing on the back as well, and having a good time.
Retired. Ride regularly with friends, with a mixture of Italian and Jap. bikes. Do all my mechanical repairs etc.
Hopelessly addicted to Guzzi's - and old bikes with spoked wheels and drum brakes...
Have not had a bike for a number of years, but just got a 2004 Cali. Looking forward to meeting other Guzzi riders.
Love my 'Guzzi, just had exhaust modified and now sounds like a Guzzi should!! Love to go on weekend rides with a few mates, stay in old Queenslander pubs over night, drink beer, shoot pool, meet the locals.
