I've had lotsa bikes since I was about 14, a series of Ducati's - Darmah, 750 SS (1975) etc, even a Fireblade! A mate and I have just bought a Guzzi V7 Special to restore, as well as a Ducati 73 250 Single and the above bikes. As well as restoring - I need to ride em! Hope to get lots of advice on Guzzi's from you guys.
The LeMans is my third Guzzi. Also owned a Lario and, as my first Guzzi, an 850T. I bought the 850T direct from Mandello Del Lario in 1975. I also did the factory tour and got to pay homage at the V8 shrine. I guess I have been 'addicted' to Guzzis since the mid-70's. I have had lots of other bikes but just had to return to a Guzzi when I returned to bikes last year after a five year absence. I have two jobs. I am a Registered Nurse and also a SCUBA diving instructor. The Guzzi is my release from the stresses of comtemporary life. A clear road and a clear head!!
I bought the T in about 82 after lots of jap bikes and have never looked at another. It has been rebuilt twice, once to concourse condition (have the trophy)then rebuilt for fun. Now it's 1000cc, twin disks up front+ other stuff. Has been commuted on and thrashed around since. Its a Great bike and I will never part with it. I picked up the V50 as a project a few years back and one day I will give it to my son. (I wish my dad had given me one.)
Started riding bikes 15 years ago. 250 Honda, 900 Bol'dor,750YZF, 750VFR..and then...moved to Melbourne! No bike...three months ago..had to have a Ducati, but saw yellow Guzzi and thought...why not? Still breaking bike in, and after 1000ks (only) starting to appreciate the bikes characteristics..I think I do need those straight through pipes!
I've owned and ridden many bikes over the previous 20+ Years, virtually all
european, Nortons, BeeEms, Ducati. The LeMans had been my sole transport,
having reciently parted with a BMW KRT Sidecar. Have just reciently
purchaced an 850T3 for comuting and touring, and in future the LeMans will
be kept mainly for Sports riding, although it still makes a pretty rapid
tourer. The MK V (has been modified with a dash of MK1 Lemon essence) is in
pretty good nick and I'd like to keep it that way, Hence the T3. My
favourite road is the Great Ocean Road, ride it at a minimum every Sunday
morning, early. It helps to live near by.
Been riding bikes since I was 16, every day commuter until I started my own business six years ago. Recently rode the LM to Bunbury, 10,500 km in three weeks, no serious problems. Would like to attend more rallies and meet other Guzzi riders from the ACT/southern NSW area.
Owned Guzzis since 1980, have been led astray once or twice, but always return to the 'real thing' I live in the hills east of Melb, and to anyone visiting for the supers, travelling to Tas or the GP, I have lots of space for the weary traveller and garage spaces for the loves of your lives. I live on the doorstep to Victorias motorcycling roads and I am happy to provide info or support to any 'propellor head' travelling south.
I have been riding a guzzi for the past 4 years. I'm treasurer/membership officer for the Victorian Club.
Currently secretary of the Victorian club. Originate from Lancashire UK. Been living in Melbourne for 11 years. Brought bike over from UK, have owned it for 13 years
