bikes: T4 and Cali3

T4 has been modified [aren't they all???] but is ultra-reliable; even when in need of TLC. Namely the uni joint after the Adelaide Hills with HG. Got the Cali III at Christmas 2001, and am learning to use the outermost edges of the tyres; especially after the straights of WA.

I have owned a Guzzi of some sort since 1986 and during the ensuing years five have passed through my hands, from under my bum and occasionally, on top of my leg.

Touring Europe on a Mk I was a lot of fun in 1990 and I count a number of Guzzi riders amongst my firm friends.

My current Guzzi is a 1987 Le Mans Mk IV with a 1048c.c. kit, a P1 cam, Carrillo rods, Lockheed master cylinder, braided hoses, foam filters and a Martin Harvey 2 into 1 exhaust system.

Catch you in the twisties,
David Mildwater

I'm 38 years old and have be absent from the motorcyling arena for nearly 10 years. I have been lusting after a Daytona RS since their release and am finally in a position to put down the readies. There does not seem to be a lot of published reliable test reports on this machine and I would dearly like to hear from some current riders.

I've always had a thing about Italian bikes and Italian women. However,I only seemed to be able to get my leg over the bikes! Bought my first new bike in '69 - a 250 Mk111 Ducati, and after a few other bikes rode a Laverda SF2.Spent a couple of years travelling in Europe with my (non-Italian) lady on a Guzzi T3,which we then shipped to the States. The most reliable and friendliest bike I've ever owned.I sold it to a guy in Hobart in 1985, and I believe it did two circuits of the Other Island.(Any news on its history would be great:blue, with a white full fairing, electronic ignit.)Took my (non-Italian) lady (now wife Sandra) and Laverda for a tour around the country in '85.It made interesting riding on the dirt in WA & NT.Raced on Tasmanian roads for a few more years (there was a Ducati Pantah in there somewhere) before buying my current (and probably eternal)Spada 9 years ago.Business & family have kept the miles down, but the Guzzi seems able to transform its personality to suit the aging, fairweather rider. The kids are now requesting pillion rides... maybe a resurrection is at hand ! "Moto bene".
