Bikes:Moto Guzzi California 1100 Carb 1995

I fell in love with Moto Guzzis ( and in particular the Cali) about 7 years ago. My first bike was an R60/7 whilst i waited for enough money to appear to buy a Cali. I've owned my bike for nearly 15 months and am looking forward to doing a few rides with some fellow Guzzi enthusiasts.

Traded the HD 1942 WLA in on '69 $1495 V7 Sport new from Cycle World SA. Loved it to death over long country commutes - changed road direction rapidly at one stage using Valiant as the chicane, chook chasers in WA, followed by that familiar lull in riding pleasures, the past 3 years has seen a return to Guzzi riding on a well kept T5 16" wheels (no problems quick steering fun) great touring bike and a pleasure to own in this part of the country.

I have been riding since 1971 and owned Guzzies since 1977. The first Guzzi was a 1974 850T which I owned for 12 years. My current bike is a an LM IV, basically standard but with Conti pipes, rearsets and a few bits. Great reliable bike and still fun to ride.

Bikes:V750 Ambassador

Been a motorcyclist since 1956 owning a lot of road bikes over the years, gave up my BM R80RT about 5 years ago, but was just moping about (without a bike) so got the Ambassador very recently, it's though to have been a private import from the states, and is suspect of having been a an LAPD unit. Am still working in the field of hydrology as a tech officer for Qld Govt. I live in Bargara, on the coast near Bundaberg, moved here from N.S.W 2 1/2 yrs ago. My wife/pillion, of 36yrs Barbara, still, when I start a bike, rushes out with her helmet and gloves.

This is my 1st Guzzi, got it late April. So far i have pulled all the fairing off and started to add a LeMans fairing. The after market indicators that were on it have been replaced and bar end handle bars have been fitted. Still a working work in progress.

I have had bikes most of my life. Lots of jap bikes and then a BMW boxer that I thought I would love forever. I hired a Guzzi a few years back, fell in love, the Beemer was history. Travelled around the south Island this summer. LOVE the Cali and can't see myself ever changing it.
