I've had the Mk2 for quite a long time now, its my second Guzzi and like the Lario I had first it took a while to grow on me. It was probably 10000k before I didn't hate it anymore. After we got to know each other I went through a period of huge milage with minimal maintainence and I was thinking the other day about how it's changed again and my attitude to working on the bike is different, I actually get some pleasure now from maintaining it, just looking at it makes me think about all the things I've done on it. I don't think I'll ever sell it.

I have owned many bikes over the last 30 years but this is my first Guzzi. I can't believe how much I have missed out on during those last 30 years. I love my bike and I know it loves me...

I've owned a 850 GT since 1984. We've done a few good trips to Townsville, Melbourne and Cairns, and it's been a good old tractor, handling a chair very nicely. It's been stripped since 1996 for a ground-up rebuild (mostly cosmetics - repaint, bearings, cables, wiring, etc) that is still to happen, if and when I get a round tuit. I'd like to sell it, but it'd have to go to a good home or a tinkerer who can do the rebuild justice. It'd be great to be able to ride it around again... or make some extra space in the shed.

Brought the sp 10 years ago after the wife expressed ( with emotional vigor ) "If you bring another f%&#en hondoosaki home theirs gunna be trouble!" (she was realy missing the T140 bonny I had when we first met). We were both happy with latin lump aka "Big nose". But after years of daily work duty as well as weekend & holiday roaming, it was getting a bit wheezy, so two years ago it was time to shop, enter the new lump aka "Fat guts", would like the reddies to plough into unecessary goodies - head jobby with extra plug, fancy igniter, reshaped bump stick, blah, blah, blah, blah. It is still a joy to ride in near stock form which is fortunate as our Big nose is in need of urgent medical attention so our Fat guts will have to wait! Seeya Wood...

In the early seventies, when I started motorcycling aboard my Suzuki 80, it was Moto Guzzi that fired my imagination and in particular the fabled V7S - a shaft drive sport bike that was massively overbuilt. To me it seemed like a military spec endurance racer for the road - a full metal cafe racer with the heart, soul and transmission of a heavy weight tourer. I always wanted one but thought that I would have to be content with the less special types of Guzzi. I eventually got an 850T and later a T3. I saw my first V7s around 1980. It belonged to Roughy, a friend of a friend. Roughy was visiting from Melbourne. The bike was a rough one too - e.g. Roughy liked the look of polished Al. tanks, so he tried to replicate the look by polishing the std steel tank. Nevertheless I mentioned that if ever it was for sale etc etc. To my surprise I got contacted late 84 - mine for $2,000. To Melb ASAP and the well worn dreambike was mine with 9 months rego. I rode it till the rego expired 8/85 and began a restoration yet to be completed. Commando 850 Interstate goes {sometimes}. Nuovo Falcone is a {very} long term project. GRT.
